PREMILINARY TASK

Continuity Task

This continuity task was a project that I did from the start of this component before the coursework starts. Our job in this project was to create a short film of our own; own story, context and filming. This was just a small project for us to get used to the field of filming and be familiar with the camera. We were assigned as a pair at that time and I took the role of director and editor while my partner was in charge of the writing director. We didn’t have lots of time on this task so the quality of this film may not be as good as expected, however at that time, compared to my peers, I still believed that ours was a high-quality produced film.

Camera shot and angle Sequence

This camera shot and angle sequence task was actually my first product from the initial stage even though we already had a built plot but we had to think about how the scene happened by ourselves. Our group had 3 people and the jobs were divided equally between three members. This task acted as a starter for the continuity task since we just needed to draw out the storyboard to show how the story ran along the film and how each shot was being taken. However, in this task, we had not notice the importance of grading the color, adding effects or adjusting sound mix so everything seemed to be basic.

Food Magazine

Before deciding whether we will do film or magazine for our coursework, we also had a practice task for a magazine where each person would choose a topic and create a magazine front cover surrounding the chosen topic. Because of my passion for food, I chose food as my major topic and specifically I created a healthy food magazine where experts shared their tips and some recipes. To be honest, I was quite proud of my final product as it looked excellent to a beginner like me who doesn't have any professional design experience. Adobe Indesign was the app that I used for the production of this front cover.
